Zohrab Gevorgyan was born in Yerevan. For a number of years, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of History at Armenia's National Academy of Sciences and taught at a number of schools (Mkhitaryan educational complex, Ayb high school) and universities (Yerevan State University, Faculty of History and Yerevan State University of Economics, Faculty of Foreign Students). Currently, he teaches at the American University of Armenia. He defended his dissertation on the topic of "The Armenian State of Cilicia in the Mediterranean Trade System, 13-14th Centuries" and published a monograph on the same topic. The scope of his scientific research includes medieval trade, economy, daily life, social and legal role of women and other historical topics.
