Araz Chiloyan is a public health specialist and advisor to the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia. Chiloyan is responsible for COVID-19 vaccine procurement and risk communication at the Ministry of Health. She obtained her master’s degree at Boston University in Public Health with concentrations in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Design and Conduct of Public Health Research. She has worked at Boston Children’s Hospital as a Quality Improvement Consultant and a COVID-19 Case Investigator for Partners in Health. She is currently based in Yerevan.

With the COVID-19 pandemic in its third year, it is imperative that we push forward with the goal of vaccinating at least 50% of Armenia’s over-18 population with a first dose by the end of 2021, writes public health specialist Araz Chiloyan.
