Just like speech and silence.
What matters in art, what truly moves people, is what survives the test of time.

The painting is a cardiogram of my thoughts and feelings.
There is no more honest place for self-discovery.
I paint because it’s something I’m somewhat good at. I give form and color to my emotions through painting, because I think that way I can speak about them more beautifully. For example, we can talk about jealousy, I give jealousy a color on the canvas, let’s say all the blues are jealousy, and if there’s a lot of blue in the canvas, then there’s a lot of jealousy and vice versa. The canvas is like a mirror for me. Every time I look at a painting, I find myself in it. The painting is a cardiogram of my thoughts and feelings. There is no more honest place for self-discovery.

Just like anything else in life that’s not forced, painting is a form of leisure… And that comes from desire.
In my case, painting is just a desire. There was a time when I painted every day and there was a time when I didn’t touch a brush for six years, because I didn’t feel like it. I’m not one of those artists who has to paint every day, who can’t not paint, who says it’s their medicine or the only way they can speak about certain things. No, it’s not like that for me.
Just like anything else in life that’s not forced, painting is a form of leisure, a way I choose to spend my time. And that comes from desire.
For example, right now I want to do a specific kind of mental and physical work, something that will let me play an interesting game with my own consciousness, focus it as much as possible, and step into the unconscious domain where the creative process happens.
Then I return to this reality, maybe to evaluate it, maybe not. Sometimes it’s enough just to observe.

It’s a choice. You can use painting as a craft or as an art form. Art has no single definition, you can look at one thing from many angles.
There was a time when not painting for a day felt like committing a sin. Now it’s different, it’s not a goal, but a need and a desire. It’s like wanting a glass of water when you’re thirsty.
It depends on how you approach it. If you treat it like a job, you can paint from 9 to 6 and then leave.The goals and approaches vary for everyone. It’s a choice. You can use painting as a craft or as an art form. Art has no single definition, you can look at one thing from many angles.
Art is either revolution or plagiarism. It can be like religion. Like a doctrine.… art is you.
