Artur Grigoryan

Artur Grigoryan

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Artur Grigoryan graduated from Yerevan State University in 2011 with a Masters in Law and has since been working as an environmental lawyer. From June 2018 to January 2019 Grigoryan served as the Head of the Republic of Armenia’s Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Natural Resources.

Throughout the years Grigoryan has been dealing with issues regarding environmental law, conducting research assessments on ecosystem services, participatory democracy and subject-matter jurisdiction of NGOs.

Since 2017, Grigoryan has been residing in the village of Kalavan in Gegharkunik Marz where he’s been working on green economy investments and has even launched an organic certification process. Specifically, he aims to foster ecologically clean and technologically effective agriculture, ecotourism and agrotourism and to set Kalavan as a self-sufficient model for other adjacent communities.
