Armenia’s Government approved the Strategy on Armenian Police Reform and its accompanying action plan back in April. Will the implementation of this new strategy help to heal decades of mistrust?
Aramayis Avetisyan is a co-founder and the executive director of “Political Dialogue”.
He was also one of the core member of “No pasaran/Chek anckacni” initiative, which has been campaigning against constitutional changes in 2015.
Aramayis has been actively involved in political processes and movements since 2009 as a political activist.
After the Velvet Revolution, he focuses on political, social and economic reforms. Currently the main area of his interests is law enforcement system’s reforms.

A number of police reforms have been introduced over the last two years. Though changes to date have been fragmented, a new strategy document promises a new approach.
