Dr. Mariam Manoukian

Dr. Mariam Manoukian, MD, PhD is a physician, author, and educator specializing in disease prevention and lifelong health. She graduated from Yerevan State Medical University and later earned a PhD in Neuroendocrinology in Moscow before moving to the United States in 1992. For more than 25 years, she has practiced medicine with a focus on helping patients prevent chronic illness through informed lifestyle choices.
Dr. Manoukian is also a published author whose work bridges medicine and public education. Her books include Aib Bem Gim (1992), one of Armenia’s earliest guides for patients with diabetes; Metabolic Syndrome Survival Guide (2003), co-authored with Jerry Manoukian; and The Alpha Plan: Healthy Eating in College and Beyond (2011).
Her professional passions center on empowering people to take charge of their health, as well as sharing Armenia’s rich historical and cultural legacy, from ancient times through the genocide and beyond.
