Liana Hakobyan

Liana Hakobyan holds a PhD in Latin American Literature from Purdue University. She is currently employed as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies at the College of Charleston. She has taught courses in Latin American literature, Social Justice through Hispanic Cinema, Latin American women writers, and Spanish. Her research is centered around the neo-baroque aesthetics in contemporary Latin American cinema and literature, visual narratives of armed conflicts, displacement, as well as Latinx and Border Studies.
