Once uncommon in Armenia, running has grown into a vibrant culture of clubs, races and communities. From Yerevan to Gyumri, Vanadzor and Dilijan, runners are reshaping attitudes toward fitness, friendship and outdoor life, turning a once-unfamiliar pastime into a growing part of everyday life.
This is a story about the beautiful complexity and strength of mothers, especially those raising a child with a disability.
Abandoned children with disabilities are placed in special orphanages and upon reaching adulthood, mental institutions. Jermik Ankyun is working to pull people with disabilities from these hopeless facilities, settling them in loving forever homes.
