Yevgenya Jenny Paturyan

Yevgenya Jenny Paturyan is an Assistant Professor of the Political Science and International Affairs Program at the American University of Armenia and an Assistant Director at the Turpanjian Center for Policy Analysis at the same university since 2011. Previously she worked at Caucasus Research Resources Centers – Armenia. She received her PhD in Political Science from Jacobs University Bremen, Germany in 2009. Her academic interests are in the sphere of civil society, volunteering, democratization of post-communist countries, and corruption. 

Black or White? No, Thank You

The divisive “black or white” tone of the political campaign is not lending itself to the very ideals that the Velvet Revolution promised - pluralism, choices, diversity and freedom. On Election Day, people should vote according to their conscience and preferences, not out of pressure to be with the “right” crowd.
