Elizaveta (Liza) Zubiuk is a PhD student in History at the University of Sheffield, where she is funded by a White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities (WRoCAH) Doctoral Training Partnership scholarship. Her research explores Soviet-East German town twinning during the Cold War, Soviet cultural diplomacy and the broader history of Cold War internationalism. She has also held a DAAD-funded research fellowship at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History (ZZF) in Potsdam. Liza is a co-organizer of the Northern East European and Slavonic Studies Postgraduate Network (NEESSPN). In 2026, she joined the CSN Lab fellowship program, where she contributed to research on Blue Yerevan.
