Sandra Sadek

Sandra Sadek is an award-winning multimedia journalist focused on international affairs and community-driven reporting.
She was previously a Report for America corps member at the Fort Worth Report, where she covered housing insecurity and economic development in North Texas. Her reporting on a controversial city incentive deal and barriers to affordable housing earned recognition from the Texas Managing Editors’ Association and the North Texas Society of Professional Journalists.
Sadek earned her journalism degree from Texas State University, where she minored in international relations and was an active member of the award-winning Model Arab League. Her undergraduate research examined the U.S.'s role in the Yemen Civil War and Western media’s self-censorship during the 2006 Lebanon War.

Sadek is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in New York City, with a focus on international and visual reporting.
