Sebouh David Aslanian is Professor of History and the Richard Hovannisian Endowed Chair in Modern Armenian History at UCLA. He is the author of From the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean: The Global Trade Networks of Armenian Merchants from New Julfa (University of California Press, 2011) and Early Modernity and Mobility: Port Cities and Printers across the Armenian Diaspora, 1512–1800 (Yale University Press, 2023), which won the 2024 SHARP Book History Book Prize and was co-winner of the 2024 Dr. Sona Aronian Book Prize for Excellence in Armenian Studies (NAASR).
